Christian McCaffrey selected as No. 8 pick in NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.

Last month, the Denver Broncos were interested in former Valor Christian star and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, and were hoping to draft him before the second round. It's been a long time coming, and last night at the first round of the draft, McCaffrey took that next step in his professional career. The Carolina Panthers beat the Broncos to the punch and drafted McCaffrey as a No. 8 pick. As difficult as it may be to see McCaffrey not home in Broncos Country, the Panthers have added a remarkable young player to their roster. https://twitter.com/NFL/status/857762462573240324 In an interview with ESPN after he had been drafted, McCaffrey stated,
It's an unbelievable honor. I can't tell you how thankful I am for the coaching staff for believing in me. I'm just out of words right now. I'm so glad to be a Carolina Panther. I can't wait to grind every day for that organization, the team, the fans and everyone there."
The five-foot-11, 202-pound star has been preparing for this moment for nearly his entire life. From his stellar career at Valor Christian to his record-breaking streaks at Stanford, nobody deserves this recognition and honor more than Christian McCaffrey. https://twitter.com/CMcCaffrey5/status/857654183213883393
His versatility as a runner, receiver and returner makes him a demanding and commanding threat in the NFL. And his performance at the combine in Indianapolis – ran a 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds and recorded a 37.5 inch vertical jump – only solidifies that skill. Congratulations, Christian! We're very excited to see what the future has in store for you as you take this next step in what will be an incredible career!
