A Cincinnati restaurant has made The New York Times' list of "America's Best Restaurants 2024."

The list is described as The Times' "favorite places in America right now" to eat at, and was curated by reporters and editors of the newspaper.

The Aperture, a Mediterranean restaurant located in Walnut Hills , was the state of Ohio's lone restaurant to make the list.

"While the Aperture just opened this winter, it’s not hard to find diners who have already made a ritual of visiting this Art Deco building for live-fire cooking from the chef-owner Jordan Anthony-Brown," wrote Brett Anderson for The Times about the eatery. "The restaurant’s regulars already have favorite bartenders and go-to orders like glazed hamachi collar, pita dips built from roasted vegetables, and tomato spaghetti swirled with candied chiles — stars on a menu that reflects the kitchen’s firm grasp of Mediterranean cuisine, particularly its eastern rim. For a snapshot of how fully Levantine cooking has been embraced by diners in the United States, book a table at this date-night restaurant in the city’s Walnut Hills area."

The Times said 32 of its choices this year were restaurants that have opened within the past year.

The District of Columbia and 27 states had at least one eatery on the list. With six different restaurants, California had the most to make the list. New York, Texas, Pennsylvania and Colorado all had three or more restaurants make the list.

The list did not rank the 50 restaurants in any particular order.

The Aperture's website describes its menu as "reflect(ing) three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant."

In another section, the website also describes its cooking as reflecting "the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining , consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience."

While walk-ins are permitted for attending The Aperture, the website says that "reservations are encouraged."

Reservations to The Aperture can be made here. Meanwhile, the restaurant's menu can be found here.
