WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The Wichita River is fuller than usual after receding slowly, even as water from streams and tributaries continues to flow into the river.

The City of Wichita Falls reported the river to be at 16.96 feet early Monday afternoon. Levels have been slow to fall as runoff makes its way to the river, and it is not known if or how much levels will rise due to rain that fell early Monday. The city said flooding in structures typically does not occur until the river reaches over 21 feet.
