WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The City of Wichita Falls said after its latest round of interdepartmental communication earlier this afternoon that it expects the Wichita River to crest at just over 20 feet early Thursday morning. That’s about two feet above the flood stage designation, but not severe enough to prompt the city to issue mandatory or voluntary evacuations, or to preemptively cut off electricity anywhere in city limits. The city said some areas could see street flooding and possible road closures, including East Scott Avenue, near MLK and Harding Street, Spudder Park and some areas of the Tanglewood neighborhood. In case of emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency situations, call (940) 720-5000.
