Illinois State defeated Cleveland State, 79-68, in the championship game of the CBI tournament March 26 in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Vikings (23-13) were within five points at 54-49 with 10:21 remaining. Illinois State then went on a 10-0 run over the next 1 minute, 40 seconds and CSU was never within eight points the rest of the way.

Tevin Smith paced CSU with 16 points. Je’Shawn Stevenson and Chase Robinson each scored 11, and Tahj Taveskie and Isaac Abidde had 10 each.

The Vikings made only 5 of 20 3-pointers.
