UFO Sightings... Aliens... Invasions... OH MY!
Across Colorado there have been an extraordinarily large amount of UFO sightings in the last few years, meaning the state is a "hot bed" nationally for extraterrestrial activity. So, as the year goes on, we may be subject to even more alien sightings. Panicking yet?
According to the National UFO Reporting Center, there have been 15 sightings this year alone. Seems like those little gray guys like paying us Coloradans a visit! And, come on, how could they not like Colorful Colorado?
The National UFO Reporting Center has compiled together an index of reported alien sightings in Colorado, some dating all the way back to 1931! We want to share some of the more bizarre and humorous sightings that have occurred over the years...
February 15th, 1931 / 6 miles west of Holyoke - "In the winter of 1931, I saw a flying machine as I was riding on a horse in the draw of a pasture."
June 10th, 1954 / Estes Park - "Cigar-shaped craft floating above pine trees on a ranch."
October 15th, 1957 / Commerce City - "A lot of methane gas in area."
September 10th, 1968 / Colorado Springs - "Possibly observed a 'mother ship' with three smaller craft darting about it."
June 15th, 1973 / Blackhawk - "At first, because it was so large, and seemingly regular, I thought it was the moon, but it moved! And I looked at, AND IT WAS NOT THE MOON!"
October 15h, 1974 / La Junta - "We saw a glowing green pencil-shaped object going from south to north. It moved out from behind one hill, only to disappear behind another."
June 15th, 1977 / Fort Collins - "I turned my head to see what was behind me and observed that there was something flying two feet above my head... It was dull glowing and gray in color."
June 1st, 1993 / Colorado Springs - "Saw a UFO and spoke to a possible alien."
November 27th, 1995 / Lyons - "Hole (50 feet by 30 feet) opens up on hill side. Light streams from it, along with motor noise. Closes again and leaves no sign of existence."
September 22, 1998 / Colorado Springs - "Green 'fireball' with a blue tail."
November 15th, 1998 / Wheat Ridge - "VERY LARGE DIAMOND-SHAPED OBJECT HOVERING OVER NEIGHBORS' HOUSE. HARD ANY SOUND. JUST A LOW VIBRATIONAL SOUND."
September 21st, 1999 / Denver - "Star like light moved about 10 moons, disappeared, reappeared and moved 10 more moons then disappeared again."
August 15th, 1999 / Dinosaur - "SOMETIME BETWEEN 11:15-11:30 SUNDAY NIGHT, I OBSERVED A HUGE OBJECT IN THE SOUTHERN SKY, WHICH WAS BLUE AT FIRST AND RAPIDLY TURNED TO ORANGE FLAMES."
Notice a pattern with the sightings? A majority of them occur on the 15th of the month! (Coincidence?
We think not!)
