Next time you head to the airport, you could be in for a real coffee treat. Roasting Plant uses patented technology to create the freshest quality drinks possible.
Roasting Plant Coffee does things a little differently than most coffee shops you've been to. When a customer tells the barista their order, the chosen coffee beans travel through clear, pneumatic tubes with vacuum-like suction, only to land in a high-pressure French press where they'll be brewed directly into the cup. Yes, you read that right: You will be able to
see your coffee beans in the tubes, moments before they're transformed into your made-to-order drink. It doesn't get much fresher than that!
The new location at Denver International Airport opened on Tuesday, May 23, and is Roasting Plant's fifth, nation-wide. The company is on track to continue expanding and hopes to have seven more stores open by the end of 2017. They currently have two shops in New York, one in Detroit, and one in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport.
The Roasting Plant will add to our lineup of coffee options and provide fresh beverages in an innovative setting that is the first of its kind in Denver," Kim Day, airport CEO, said in a statement. "We think passengers will very much enjoy both the coffee and the captivating way their drinks are made."
Operating from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, Roasting Plant will have breakfast pastries and small lunch items available, in addition to their cups of artisan coffee.
According to DIA's press release, Roasting Plant is a vertically integrated coffee company that was established in 2004.
(It) designs, develops, and manufactures technology that disrupts the coffee trade. The company’s Javabot™ automation system microbatch roasts in every café, gives customers a choice from a wide selection of the highest quality beans in the world, and brews each custom cup of coffee to order. Just-roasted, just-brewed, just for you™."
“The just-roasted coffee experience is simply much better in terms of taste,” Thomas Hartocollis, Roasting Plant's co-founder told
The Denver Post. “Even without milk or sugar, people will find a coffee they love.”
