Most districts across the Denver Metro area have now announced plans to transition to fully remote learning through the end of the fall semester.
November has brought a flurry of school closures as COVID-19 numbers have steadily increased across Colorado. Last week, Cherry Creek School District, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Douglas County School District announced transitions to remote learning.
The situation throughout the state is changing rapidly and varies widely from county to county and district to district. Following is a list of where each district currently is with in-person and remote learning models, as of November 16:
27J Schools
- Schools in Aurora, Brighton, Commerce City, Lochbuie, Thornton, and parts of Adams, Broomfield, and Weld counties
- In-person learning continues: Elementary in person four days a week; middle and high school in-person hybrid
Adams 12 Five Star Schools
- Schools in Adams and Broomfield counties
- Transitioning to fully remote November 16
Adams 14 Schools
- Schools in Commerce City
- Remote learning in place since start of fall semester
Aurora Public Schools
- Schools in Aurora
- Most students were fully remote since start of fall semester
- In-person students (preschool, kindergarten, students with special needs, newcomer students, and Pickens Technical College students) will transition to fully remote November 30
Boulder Valley School District
- Schools in Boulder, Gold Hill, Jamestown, Lafayette, Louisville, Nederland, Superior, and Ward
- Transition to remote learning November 17
Cherry Creek School District
- Schools in western Arapahoe County
- Transition to remote learning November 11-16
Colorado Springs School District 11
- Schools in Colorado Springs
- Transitioning to remote learning November 30
Denver Public Schools
- Schools in Denver
- Elementary school students continue in-person learning
- Middle and high school students remain remote learning
Douglas County School District
- Schools in Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Parker
- Transition to remote learning November 30; 13 schools already fully remote
Englewood Schools
- Schools in Englewood
- Transitioned to remote learning November 2
Greeley-Evans School District
- Schools in Greeley, Evans, Garden City, and Unincorporated Weld County
- Transition to remote learning November 16 for high school students; November 17 for elementary and middle school students
Jeffco Public Schools
- Schools in Jefferson County
- Kindergarten through 5th Grade Students transition to remote learning November 30; 6th through 12th grade students November 16
Littleton Public Schools
- Schools in Littleton
- Transition to remote learning November 17
Poudre School District
- Schools in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado
- Currently offering in-person learning. Fossil Ridge High School transitioning to remote learning November 13
Westminster Public Schools
- Schools in Westminster
- Currently on temporary remote learning with plans to return to in-person learning November 16
