After Gabrielle made several trips to a nearby hospital, staff there notified local agencies of her vulnerable and confused state.
Doctors Without Walls treated her on the street, and the police checked in on her and gained her trust while keeping her safe. The DA's office found her shelter and services, and a police court liaison spent months trying to put her identity back together.
Two weeks ago, something suddenly clicked, and Gabrielle remembered her name. The liaison, Mureen Brown, searched for her in a missing persons database and located her information almost immediately. That Tuesday, Gabrielle's children got the call they had been desperately waiting 11 years for.
