An adorable dog appears on billboards around Denver, asking for help in finding a kidney donor for his owner.

Cooper the Goldendoodle is gazing over the Denver metro area, and his adorable mug is on billboards hoping to get some attention for a very important cause.

Cooper’s owner, Jeff Cohn, is battling end-stage kidney disease and is need of a kidney transplant. Cohn has been on peritoneal dialysis since his unexpected diagnosis a year ago, however, he needs a new kidney as a long-term solution. With a transplant, Cohn can live another 20 or so years; he's currently on the waiting list for one. This is a process that can take years, and Cohn’s dialysis situation is only a temporary solution. As he and other patients hope and pray for either a deceased or living transplant, Cohn wanted to do something besides just sit and wait.

Cohn is the creator and CEO of COHN Marketing, a Denver-based marketing company, and decided to launch a campaign to find a new kidney and raise awareness of the disease. He started small with a Facebook page and a website, and soon got an offer from two companies to donate some billboards to the cause.

Cohn realized already had the perfect face for his cause, Cooper, the adorable 3-year-old pup he shares his days with. He has wanted to put the pup in an advertisement since he first got him, and this was just the right way to do it.

Cooper’s face now looks over the Denver area from about 20 billboards, with the words, "My Buddy Jeff Needs a Kidney. Can You Help?".

The webpage explains the disease Cohn is facing, the process of dialysis, and the difference between a living and deceased organ donor.

Cooper’s other human Hector is helping run the campaign, and they are hoping to find a donor not only for Cohn but for the thousands of people who are hoping for one to save their lives.

Living donation is the fastest way to a kidney transplant and finding a match can save a life. Jeff Cohn is a Type B and can accept a Type B or Type O kidney. He is on the list for Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Kidney Transplant Center in Denver. Anyone interested in becoming a living donor for Jeff or anyone else can learn more here or call 720-754-2155.

Cooper certainly is cute—and Denver sure loves its dogs—so, hopefully, the combination of a cute pup and a good cause will result in connecting those who need a kidney with willing donors, and we wish Jeff and Cooper all the best.
