This is uncharted territory. New head coach Ali Farokhmanesh has completed the building of his first roster as Colorado State men's basketball coach and the Rams are prominently ranked nationally for his transfer additions. CSU has added six transfers this offseason. And as of the morning of April 18, 247Sports has CSU's transfer class ranked as No. 38 in the nation and best in the Mountain West. The 247 tracker doesn't even yet account for the additions this week of Jevin Muniz (Florida Gulf Coast) and Augustinas Kiudulas (Virginia Military Institute), who are both potential starters for the Rams. CSU's transfer class ranking is just three spots behind Minnesota and former Rams coach Niko Medved. Per 247Sports rankings, the Rams have landed two four-star transfers in Josh Pascarelli (Marist) and Brandon Rechsteiner (Virginia Tech) and two three-star transfers in Carey Booth (Illinois) and Jase Butler (Washington). Booth and Butler were both considered four-star recruits in high school. The site doesn't have profiles for Kiudulas or Muniz, but both come in as Division I starters at their former school. Kiudulas is ranked as a four-star transfer by On3 Sports. On3 doesn't currently have team rankings available for any Mountain West squads. The portal is still spinning, so rankings will continue to change but this will surely be the highest-rated recruiting class CSU has ever landed. The 2024 transfer class was No. 123 in DI, per 247Sports. The 2023 transfer class was No. 149 and the 2022 was No. 246. Now, rankings don't mean everything because CSU has made the NCAA Tournament three of the last four seasons but on paper the talent level is rising.
