A kitten stranded on I-25? Never fear, Trooper Thorne is here!

It was a normal early morning rush hour near Castle Pines when a 6-month-old kitten found herself clinging to I-25’s median wall, too frightened to move as vehicles whizzed by. That’s when the Colorado State Patrol received a call reporting the frightened kitten on I-25, and dispatched Trooper Thorne to the rescue. https://twitter.com/CSP_CastleRock/status/834786271146827776 Upon arriving to the scene, troopers witnessed the kitten hanging onto the median, too afraid to move - even when approached. Trooper Thorne, reading the kitten’s signals, reached out to pet the cat and successfully grabbed it by the scruff, much like a mother cat would (cue heart eye emoji). https://twitter.com/CSP_CastleRock/status/834793953413062657 The tortoiseshell kitten suffered minor abrasions to her paws and nose, but is expected to make a full recovery. She was transported to the Dumb Friends League in Castle Rock, but no microchip was found. If an owner isn’t found, the Dumb Friends League will put her up for adoption - but you should know, Trooper Thorne has dibs.

Thorne, who has another cat at home, has jokingly suggested he needs another to keep his one at home company. Among possible names for the kitten: “Freeway”, “Trooper”, and “Eight” (instead of 9 lives… get it?) are frontrunners. What do you think the kitten should be named? Let us know in the comments!
