A Columbia woman was arrested in connection to an assault Sunday morning.

Columbia Police responded to an assault at 5:15 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Mayflower Drive. Police found a male with "serious injuries" and transported him to a local hospital in "serious condition," according to a news release.

Columbia Police identified Briana Boone, 35, as the suspect and arrested her under charges of first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
