Kym Butcher, an active member of the Colorado fitness community, was injured by a suspected drunk driver in February. A community event is being held to complete 10,000 burpees in support of Kym.

Kym Butcher is known for her sparkling personality and is typically seen wearing a tutu or decorative headband while working out. Like many gym members, she had fitness goals she wanted to complete this year. Kym wanted to do 10,000 burpees and donate one of her kidneys to someone who needed it. Unfortunately, she is not going to meet those goals this year. Late at night on February 24, Kym was on her way to a Spartan race in Arizona with two friends – the races were a huge part of her life – and their vehicle was struck by an 18-year-old suspected drunk driver. One of Kym's friends, Corrina Vaden from Aurora, was killed in the accident. Kym and the other passenger were injured. She has undergone numerous surgeries with more on the horizon. Kym will be returning to Colorado in a few weeks so she can fully recover.
In the meantime, there is something you can do to help support Kym! The FAST/Crossfit LTP in Arvada is hosting a community event to complete all 10,000 burpees she wanted to complete herself. The event is also a fundraiser and silent auction to raise money for Kym and her daughter.
