Son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., John Conor Kennedy, is facing charges for disorderly conduct after it was reported he punched another man in the head four times outside of Bootsy Bellows.
Seems like someone got a head start on the New Year’s Eve wildness last weekend. John Kennedy, 22, was arrested outside of a local bar early last Thursday. Police were called to the scene at 1:40 a.m. regarding another situation of John Conor Kennedy (Conor) and another man “rolling around on the ground” in the street outside of a bar.
It wasn’t until police arrived where things escalated. An officer and Conor Kennedy tumbled into a snowbank as Aspen police tried to break up the initial fight. Kennedy struggled against the officers until a bystander also came over to help restrain and handcuff the famous family member.
Aspen police report seeing Conor Kennedy punch the other man at least four times. Luckily no injuries were reported.
The attorneys of Conor Kennedy have released a statement to E! News, stating: "Multiple witnesses to the incident have reported that two men assaulted Conor Kennedy after he rebuked them for directing a homophobic slur and threats to his close friend. [Witnesses] also report that Mr. Kennedy was cooperative, compliant and respectful towards the police from the moment they arrived on the scene. Mr. Kennedy looks forward to a full airing of the incident."
Kennedy apologized to the officer after he was arrested, according to the report Kennedy said "He called my friend the f-word."
Conor was arrested and let go without bond. He has been issued a summons to appear in court February 22 for disorderly conduct. This charge holds a possible penalty of up to a year in jail and close to a $2,650 fine.
But let’s be real, the oldest son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and wife Mary Richardson, won’t be hanging out behind bars any time soon. Also, for a family like the Kennedys… $2,650 won't be making any dents, any time soon.
