Dry and beautiful weather will follow into the weekend, with mainly sunny skies and highs in the 70s. While winds will be light across central Kansas, they will become gusty in western Kansas.

A large but slow moving system will begin to move into the area early next week, bringing several rounds of showers and storms. While severe weather is unlikely, periods of heavy rain are possible. Rain will return to western Kansas by Monday evening, with most of the state getting rain Tuesday through Thursday.

It is too soon to tell how much rain the state will get, but confidence continues to grow that there will be widespread rainfall.
