SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Fire Department has blocked off part of East Elm street as they work to put out a fire at the Embassy Apartments.

Ozarks First is at the scene of a reported fire in the 900 block of East Elm street at the Embassy Apartments. Our crews report seeing at least 5 fire trucks, an ambulance, and other emergency response vehicles.

Elm street is blocked off in the area according to our reporter on scene. The Battalion Chief on scene tells Ozarks First there are no injuries, as all residents were able to self-evacuate. The Chief also says drivers can expect delays in the area as the fire marshal will likely be on scene for at least a couple of hours.

The apartment is next to several fraternity and sorority houses. Avoid the area if possible as crews work to clear the scene.
