WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - 3 p.m. update: KDOT announced I-70 is reopening in both directions from Salina to the east Geary County line. This was the last section of I-70 that remained closed due to blizzard conditions.

State highways are also reopening as conditions improve, including I-135, U.S. 81, U.S. 75, and highways in Reno, Butler and Harvey counties.

KDOT is still asking drivers to limit travel and use caution and patience on the roads as crews keep working to clear things up.

After a shutdown due to blizzard conditions across the state, roads are reopening for travel Monday morning.

Major state highways in northeast Kansas are now open, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Westbound and eastbound I-70 was reopened Monday morning between Hays and Salina. But I-70 remains closed to traffic from Salina to the east Geary County line.

State highways in north central Kansas were also reopened in the following counties: Jewell, Republic, Washington, Mitchell, Cloud, Clary, Lincoln, Ottawa, Ellsworth, Saline, Dickinson, Geary, Morris, McPherson, Marion and Chase.

KDOT is still urging drivers to stay home if possible and give crews room as they work to treat roads.
