RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh’s second Trader Joe’s location is set to open on Friday , with the popular grocery store set to anchor Brennan Station on Creedmoor Road.

“I love Trader Joe’s; I’ve been shopping at Trader Joe’s for over 20 years,” said Tony Capel.

Frequent shoppers at the existing location on Wake Forest Road are hoping the new location can help ease crowds at that store.

“It’s definitely going to take some of the volume off, and it’s also going to make it convenient for folks that are in that area,” said Capel.

But there are some traffic concerns around the new location.

“I have a lot of friends who love Trader Joe’s, and I know it is popular, so it could get pretty heavy I guess,” said Audrey Austin.

North Carolina Department of Transportation data shows there were 75 crashes at the intersection of Creedmoor Road and Brennan Drive from 2019 to 2023.

Austin has lived in the area for several decades.

“It’s already unbelievable,” she said. “We’ve been out there for 50 years, so it can’t get anything but worse.”
