The drugstore chain will help ease demand for vaccinations.

If you're 65 years old or older, you can now receive the COVID-19 vaccine at your local Virginian CVS. You can determine eligibility and locations HERE. Currently, all locations are booked, but CVS' website explains you can "Check back for updates on additional locations as they become available." 

As per the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), those aged 65 and older (must be within the "Phase 1b eligibility guidelines for vaccines") can be registered at CVS Pharmacy. If you fall under the eligible category, register here. Vaccines will be administered starting Friday, February 12.

"VDH worked closely with CVS over the last week to ensure that the CVS system follows Virginia’s priority guidelines and to provide an advance opportunity for eligible individuals already registered on VDH waiting lists," writes VDH. "However, due to technological limitations with their national appointment system, CVS is unable to reserve appointments for pre-registered individuals. Virginia will continue to work towards a solution in partnership with other participating states and the federal government."

Once the first vaccination appointment has been scheduled, the appointment for the second vaccination will be made.

Please note that walk-ins to receive the vaccine (without an appointment) are not available. If you're having trouble accessing the registration online, call CVS Customer Service at (800)-746-7287.
