Daughter of Army Vet Tara Knutson needs your help finding her stolen backpack with paperwork to cremate her father.
The unimaginable happened to Tara Knutson. Not only is she grieving the loss of her Army veteran father, but a backpack filled with his very last words and his cremation papers has been stolen. Knutson is asking anyone who may have taken the backpack to please return it, no questions asked."[It held a] copy of his honorable discharge from the army so that I could give him military honors,"
Not only was this in the backpack, but his life insurance documents, his power of attorney paperwork, his iPhone, wallet, his last fly rods he made, and his very last words to her were also inside. Things like this can't be replaced.
Knutson wasn't thinking straight and left her backpack in the car overnight when the purple Oakley backpack was stolen from her father's Chevy Blazer in Lakewood. Knutson called Lakewood Police and reported the crime. Knutson states,
"Those papers are the only thing keeping my family from cremating my dad just drop it off, I don't care about anything else"
If anyone has any information concerning the backpack, please call the Lakewood Police at 303-987-7111.
