Skip the crowds and shop from the comfort of your couch!
D.C.'s Christkindl Market and Brau Market are must-visit shopping destinations during the holidays, but sadly COVID-19 has forced them to cancel. To make the best of it, Heurich House and DC Brau, the events' respective hosts, are bringing the marketplace to YOU with a fun alternative that's no less festive!
The museum and brewery are launching the "Hoptimist Holiday Market" for a hoppin' virtual shopping experience, pun most definitely intended. Beginning Black Friday, customers can shop a variety of goods from DMV-area vendors, ranging from art and clothing to artisanal chocolates. Shopping online may not be the same as strolling through Brewmaster's Castle, but at least you can recreate the atmosphere at home with a beverage to sip while you browse (DC Brau's "Farmhouse AF" IPA would be appropriate for its generous mix of hops!) It's all about being creative!

With the variety of goods available, you're sure to find something for the people on your list, whether it's baked goods, ceramics, or the perfect pair of earrings. Some of the participating businesses include Kuzeh Pottery, The Big Bad Woof, and Chouquette Chocolate & Confections, though there's plenty more to see on their website.
For those itching to get a start on their shopping list, you're in luck. The event is selling $15 Early Bird tickets for you to shop the market two days in advance, on November 25. As an added perk, ticket-holders will even get a special surprise from DC Brau and Heurich House to show their appreciation.
We're excited to embrace our inner "Hoptimist," and we can't wait to support our favorite local artisans by shopping small. So put on your PJs, grab your wallet, and prepare to shop 'til you drop!
The market premieres at noon on Friday, November 27, and runs through December 11. You can check out their website for more details.
