Denver Broncos' DeMarcus Ware announced his retirement on Monday. After playing 12 seasons in the NFL, he is leaving behind a legacy.

On Monday, the Denver Broncos lost DeMarcus Ware to retirement. The linebacker had wanted to play an additional year with the Broncos, but due to back and forearm injuries and contract negotiations not going anywhere, he decided it was time to retire. https://twitter.com/DeMarcusWare/status/841408198837981185 Ware leaves behind an incredible legacy. With 138.5 sacks over the course of his career, he ranks number eight on the all-time list – one behind Jason Taylor (seventh place) and three behind Michael Strahan (fifth place). He's a member of the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team, ranking second among active players. [gallery size="large" columns="2" ids="10927,10928"]
He was released by the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 after eight and a half seasons, only to sign with the Broncos with a three-year, $30 million contract. Unfortunately, throughout the years his body started to catch up with the wear and tear of the game. He had 21.5 sacks in the three seasons he was with the Broncos, in addition to 3.5 in postseason games during the Super Bowl 50 run to cap off the season. Ware missed 11 games over the last two seasons due to substantial injuries to his back and forearms. https://twitter.com/Broncos/status/841382312117964807 https://twitter.com/johnelway/status/841386547563888641 Thank you, DWare!
