Dense fog enveloped Ocean City in Maryland on Thursday morning, March 20, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned the mid-Atlantic region to brace for showers and storms later in the day.

The NWS said dense fog could reduce visibility to half a nautical mile (0.6 miles) or less, with strong northwest gale winds gusting up to 40 knots (46 mph), in coastal waters between Delaware and Virginia.
