Amazon has whittled down their list of applicants from 238 to 20, and Denver has made the cut.

In the continuing saga of Amazon's quest for a home for their second headquarters location, Denver has clinched a spot among the top 20 contenders. Amazon says they will continue to look at each remaining applicant in detail to see if they will be a good fit. They hope to announce their final decision sometime in 2018. In fact, Los Angeles is the only city on the list that lies further west than Denver. With their first headquarters located in Seattle, this may or may not have an impact on Denver's chances, should they be looking for growth opportunities on the other side of the country. Regardless, whichever candidate Amazon chooses is almost certainly guaranteed to experience the creation of 50,000 high-paying jobs and billions of dollars of investment into the community. By all accounts, it would be a game-changer.
The other finalists are: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Miami, Montgomery County, New York City, Nashville, Newark, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Toronto, and Washington, D.C.
