A Denver daredevil practicing Parkour gets stuck in chimney. Immediately brought into custody after rescue.

Dustin Hinkle, 26, was booked into Denver jail on suspicion of trespassing after being rescued from a chimney by the Denver Fire Department. Hinkle wasn’t getting a jump on his Santa routine for Christmas or attempting a robbery, though. The 26 year old is a freerunner, and he was practicing parkour when he got stuck. What exactly is Parkour? The World Freerunning Parkour Federation defines the extreme sport as:
The act of moving from point ‘a’ to point ‘b’ using the obstacles in your path to increase efficiency.”
Here’s a neat video from StuntsAmazing to demonstrate what exactly that means: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVkvvQwKels     According to KCNC, Hinkle fell 40 feet down a chimney while making a parkour video on the roof of the Denver City Lofts.  In a jailhouse interview, he apologized for his reckless actions and said it was an accident. Which is understandable, as I’m sure no one besides Santa purposefully wants to fall down a chimney.

“I’ll never get on top another building in downtown again,” Hinkle told interviewers, lamenting that his fiancé is pregnant, and his fears for never seeing his child. The free-runner was stuck inside the chimney for almost two hours. Firefighters had to enter a vacant apartment and tear through brinks to free him. Parkour has a good bit of criticism against it. Most of all is the trespassing element, considering you typically do the activity in urban areas spanning from private to public property. As you could tell from the video, free-running and parkour takes a considerable amount of coordination and skill. Free-runners understand they are putting themselves at considerable risk. Flipping, jumping, skipping and basically flying through building gaps, stairwells and everywhere else that’s covered in concrete and metal takes a fair amount of ability, confidence, and of course practice to execute properly. So if you decide to freerun yourself, check out these parkour fails before you immediately climb a building and get yourself stuck in a chimney! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JV76AXJt7OE&t=23s
