On a list of things you should never do, jumping into a Bass Pro Shops fish tank should be at the top of the list... but should probably go without saying.
Over the weekend, the Denver area and surrounding suburbs were visited by the Spring Snow fairy. Instead of spending the day indoors like almost everyone else, one Denver teen decided to partake in a shockingly surprising prank - Jumping into a Bass Pro Shops signature fish tank. We're not kidding. Apparently Generation Z is stepping up its "challenge" game, filling their time with dangerous and at the end of the day, extremely questionable pranks. The Denver teen in question will soon regret his decision to take his friends up on their dare - because police are now looking into charging him.
[Saturday] a teenage minor attempted to enter our aquarium as part of an intended prank. Our associates and security team quickly addressed the issue safely and without incident," - Bass Pro Shops said in a statement this week.Police haven't specified exactly what charges the teen could possibly face, but they are looking into it. According to a story published by The Denver Post, the boy jumped from the upper bridge of the Northfield Stapelton location, into the main fish tank at the center of the store. The jump resulted in the teen injuring his head, but he was not taken to a hospital. Police report if his actions damaged the tank or have harmed the fish, the juvenile will absolutely face charges.
Apparently, this "prank" (if you can call it that) isn't a new concept. A quick YouTube search shows several teens partaking in this Bass Pro Shop dive. Why? Who knows anymore. Amidst the many "challenges" out there prompting kids to do stupid things in the hopes of a few fake internet points, this is just another dangerous and meaningless action that will further perpetuate reckless behavior among social media obsessed kids.
The fate of this Denver teen is currently unknown but we hope at least he got a good grounding from his parents for being just plain dumb.
