The two-time defending champions don’t always necessarily blow away teams, they just make all the right plays when it is winning time. Just once this season, Kansas City has won a game by more than 10 points.

Last week, the Broncos were annihilated by the Ravens, but their other three losses were by seven points or less. The divisional familiarity between the two teams is a factor that can often lead to close games.

Kansas City doesn’t have an explosive offense, and this year’s version of the team has been praised for its defense. But 42 points is not an overly high bar for these teams to clear.

K.C. and its opponents ran past the projected total in the last two games, and those were matchups against the limp Las Vegas offense and the offensively depleted Buccaneers.

Denver and its opponents have totaled 42 or more points in four of its past five games. Williams will not be part of any possible offensive charge, as he is averaging 3.8 yards per carry and rookie Audric Estime may start cutting into his playing time as soon as this week.

Defensively, Chris Jones has registered a sack in three of his last four matchups with the Broncos. George Karlaftis has a sack in each of his past three games.
