NBA champion and Olympic gold medalist Derrick White hosted a youth basketball camp Sunday at New England Sports Center in Derry, New Hampshire.

The camp, organized by FlexWork Sports, drew more than 600 kids between the ages of 6 and 16.

“It was really fun for me because I haven’t seen any NBA players in real life,” said Mike Camacho, a player from Bow.

The Celtics guard took pictures with the players and taught them the fundamental skills of basketball.

“I’m excited just to go out here and just have a lot of fun. This is what it’s all about is just giving back to the kids and just let them run around, learn from this great game, and I’m gonna have a lot of fun with it,” White told News 9.

White also said he’s looking forward to Tuesday’s season opener against the Knicks, where Banner 18 will be raised.
