Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh suggested that Ar'Darius Washington is likely to return from an Achilles injury for the Ravens' late-season 2025 schedule

Harbaugh said that Ar’Darius Washington had a clean Achilles tear. Washington is aiming to return in Nov or Dec.

Hours after the Celtics lost Jayson Tatum to a similar injury, the Baltimore Ravens were expected to lose Ar'Darius Washington for all of 2025 after the talented safety suffered a torn Achilles during conditioning drills.

Back in April, the Ravens took steps to retain the talented defensive back by extending the exclusive rights tender to the then-free agent. With the low tender, Baltimore would have received no compensation from Washington if another team signed him to an offer sheet and Baltimore declined to match it.

That deadline had passed, meaning Washington had to sign the offer sheet to play in Baltimore or risk missing the 2025 NFL season. During Day 2 of Ravens OTAs, head coach John Harbaugh provided optimism about a potential late-season return.

Baltimore drafted former Georgia All-American safety Malaki Starks in the first round, further lessening the blow.

Still, Washington saw action in 12 games last season and played a significant role in the Baltimore secondary, performing like one of the NFL's best after a dismal showing in the first seven to eight weeks. A late-season return would make the defense even more versatile.

The tender is for a one-year contract worth $3.263 million. According to Over The Cap , a second-round tender would have cost $5.346 million.

Washington finished with a career-high 64 tackles, two interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble, and five tackles for loss in 10 starts.
