Transformation of Springfield’s “convention center area” between State and Union streets will kick off with the redevelopment of three prominent buildings along the corridor facing the MGM Springfield casino — and may now include a fourth property.

The long-awaited redevelopment started in 2023 with the naming of McCaffery Interests Inc. of Chicago as the preferred developer of the Masonic Building, also known as the Clock Tower at the corner of State and Main streets.
