Thousands are again without power in Pentagon City and Crystal City. Nearly 7,400 homes and businesses were in the dark as of 1:30 p.m., according to Dominion’s website. The outage extends from Crystal City and Pentagon City to the Aurora Highlands and Foxcroft Heights neighborhoods, according to scanner traffic and the power company’s map. No definitive cause of the outage is listed. Restoration is currently estimated at between 4-7 p.m., according to Dominion’s website. Arlington County firefighters were dispatched to several reports of stuck elevators, in hotels and apartment buildings, in the wake of the outage. The Pentagon City mall and Costco also reportedly lost power. As of 1:45 p.m., the number of Dominion customers said to be without power was down to around 2,300. This is at least the third major outage affecting the area so far this year.
