Have you ever wondered how the parks you and your dog enjoy manage to stay so clean? Or have you been looking for a way to improve your furry friend’s favorite hangouts?
Fortunately, if you live in the Lake Ridge area, a local charity strives to keep the parks your dog loves safe and clean. Nonprofit Prince William County Dogs (PWC Dogs) is teaming up with the Prince William County Parks & Recreation Department to host the 6th annual Dogs Walk fundraiser on Sunday, April 29, at Lake Ridge Park. PWC Dogs was founded in 2011 in an effort to bring the joy of off-leash puppy playgrounds to the area. In 2013, their hard work was rewarded when the K9 Gunner Memorial Park warmly opened its gates to local pups eager to stretch their legs and socialize. Now, the group continues to come up with new, innovative ways to maintain the park, including the Dogs Walk fundraiser. [caption id="attachment_7305" align="aligncenter" width="383"]
The registration fee is $15, which includes entry for both contests. Guests can either register the morning of the walk (starting at 11:30 a.m.), or in advance by signing up online here. The first 50 registrants will receive a complimentary goodie bag, so if you’re into free swag (and really, who isn’t?) you’ll want to RSVP as soon as possible!
All proceeds will be put toward routine maintenance of K9 Gunner Memorial Park, as well as future improvements. If you’d like to play a more direct role in the event, you can find more information on volunteering by reaching out to [email protected]. However, by simply signing up, making donations, and enjoying the event, you’ll still be playing a significant role in preserving your dog’s favorite park!
