Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey spoke loudly Tuesday morning without saying a word.

Ramsey posted “5…” on a X’s social media platform . The post is presumably a countdown to how many days Ramsey has left in a Dolphins uniform.

There’s a good chance Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel will be asked about Ramsey on Wednesday when he speaks before Miami’s second day of organized team activities.

In fairness, Ramsey’s post could represent many things.

Ramsey and the Dolphins have mutually agreed to seek a trade .

Because of the financial ramifications it was always most likely any deal would happen after June 1 — five days from Tuesday.

Ramsey will cost roughly $25 million in 2025 with $24.2 million in guaranteed money via bonuses and another $1.2 million in base salary.

For accounting purposes, however, Ramsey costs $16.7 million against the salary cap.

If Ramsey is dealt before June 1, he becomes a $25 million salary hit that becomes due this year.

If Ramsey is dealt after June 1, the salary cap hit can be spread across two seasons, costing about $6.7 million in 2025 and about $17.6 million in 2026.

Ramsey’s previous noteworthy social media post that could be related to the Dolphins was a bag of rotting oranges with a message that started by saying, “Who you surround yourself with matters.”

It continued by saying, “If you surround yourself with people who are okay with mediocre, you too will start to be okay with it … surround yourself with people who desire GREATNESS!”

None of Ramsey’s posts have been directed at the Dolphins or have mentioned the Dolphins.
