ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. — A Tampa Bay beach icon is set for its return.

The Don CeSar will reopen in March, according to an announcement Thursday from resort officials.

The hotel, often called the "Pink Palace," has been closed since last year’s back-to-back hurricanes, Helene and Milton.

Hotel officials said not only is the hotel damage repaired, but the storm closure also allowed for an opportunity to upgrade several of the resort’s amenities.

Officials did not give an exact date of the reopening, only stating ‘Quarter 1,’ which ends March 31.

During the initial reopening, some restaurants and bars will operate on an adjusted schedule. Also, the spa and a pool will be open.
