Off we go into the wild, blue yonder! The Manassas Airshow, sponsored by Leaseweb, is a FREE event featuring almost a dozen daring aviation acts!
On May 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., come out to Manassas Regional Airport to see the Manassas Airshow. Civilian and military airshow performers from around the United States and Canada will show off aircraft ranging from warbirds and vintage airplanes to unlimited class aerobatic and modern military crafts. Eleven acts will take to the wild blue yonder to wow the crowds below! Here is just a sampling of the amazing demonstrators at the Manassas Air Show: The Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team (CHAT) -- A four-plane aerobatic team, CHAT flies to honor the veterans of WWII. What to Know Before You Go to the Airshow
First of all, that rhymed. Secondly, you should know that the Manassas Airshow is located at the Manassas Regional Airport, 10600 Harry J. Parish Boulevard. If it's raining, the planes won't fly; rain-out date is the next day, May 6! Same bat time, same bat channel. There will be highway signs and police officers directing traffic to parking lots. Guests will be directed to an available parking space by members of the Civil Air Patrol; then, buses will transport people between the parking lots and airport entrance. Please use the buses, and do not walk along the road. Click here for directions and more detailed parking information. Donations at the gates are encouraged but not required!
You also need to know that this is a walking/standing event, so there are no seats! Bring a blanket or chairs and a stroller for the baby -- there will be lots of aviation displays and booths to look at.
Food vendors will be onsite, selling food, water, and other non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is strongly prohibited, as is smoking of any kind. (Leave the stogies at home, Uncle Lewis)!
No coolers are allowed at the event, unless you have baby food or meds in there!
I guess, in the words of Forrest Gump, that's all I have to say about that. (I think he was talking about his time in Vietnam, though, not the Manassas Air Show).
Will you be going to the airshow on May 5? I will! Let me know in the comments - Maybe I'll see you there!
