Cool off from a hot Washington, D.C., summer with alcoholic snow cones and drinks at Fix Bar!

Snow cones are a staple of summer indulgences. The sweet and cold treat helps beat the heat while giving you your sugar fix. Now you can chill out with adult snow cones on the outdoor patio, called Fix Bar, located at Morris American Bar. Where: 1020 7th St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20001 When: Tuesday–Thursday, 6 p.m.–12 a.m. | Friday–Saturday, 6 p.m.–2 a.m. | Sunday 6 p.m.–12 a.m. Morris American Bar recently announced the addition of Fix Bar to its Shaw neighborhood bar. The newly opened Morris American Bar has already gained a reputation for its artisan cocktails and fun vibes. The new outdoor patio bar is sure to attract many people who need some comfort from Washington, D.C.'s notoriously hot and humid summers.
The outdoor bar is named Fix Bar in commemoration of the fix drinks, which is the name used when the alcoholic snow cones became famous in the 19th century. The drinks are traditionally sour and feature a spirit, citric acid, and sweetener served over ice. According to a press release from Morris American Bar, Fix Bar will feature a "daily rotating menu of fix drinks ($12), each made with fresh, squeezed juice and housemade syrups. A selection of canned rosé from House Wine and local D.C. beers (3 Stars, Anxo, Atlas Brew Works, D.C. Brau, and Right Proper Brewing Company) will also be available for $8 each." Just an excuse to visit this bar all throughout the summer! This month's signature cocktails include the Imperial Buck with goslings, pineapple, lime, ginger, and soda, and the Fan Tan with tequila, lemon, ginger, hot sauce, and egg white.
