The New Hampshire State Police are assisting the Durham Police Department in a search for a missing man, authorities said.

Durham police said a state police helicopter began assisting them in the search around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police said the helicopter is searching the area of Great Bay, the Piscataqua River, and the Bellamy River.

Authorities have not confirmed if the search is related to Alexis Garcia , the missing 24-year-old University of New Hampshire student who was last seen on Thursday, Nov. 21.

His 2021 black Mercedes was found at the Scammell Bridge Rest Area just off Route 4 in Durham last month.
