COLUMBIA —A movie theater at a northwest Columbia mall closed a month ago, according to a notice on its door.

A notice on a door at Bow Tie Cinemas in Dutch Square Center said the Bush River Road theater closed on April 20. Through the glass, empty movie poster light boxes were still visible on May 20.

"We would like to thank everyone for your patronage, and it is with a heavy heart that we must say farewell," the notice, attributed to BTM Cinemas Staff, read. "We thank you again for being our amazing guests, and hope you continue to enjoy the movies wherever you may go next."

"Thank you for choosing BTM Cinemas. We will miss each and every one of you," the notice said.

When reached by phone, a maintenance manager with Dutch Square Center declined to be interviewed by The Post and Courier.

BTM Cinemas owner Scene One Entertainment did not respond to interview requests to discuss the closure.
