There have been plenty of opinions that have gone out regarding the legality and health factors that come out both in defense and against the Philadelphia Eagles ' use of the Tush Push.

With a vote coming within hours regarding the potential ban of the variation of the quarterback sneak, there are some coaches who have gone out of their way to actually defend the Eagles ' play.

Surprisingly, many of them are on the defensive side of the ball.

One of the staunch supporters of the play is New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn who made it clear that the play should stay and force people to learn how to stop it.

"They've done a good job of creating a play that's unstoppable," Glenn said, per Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic. "In my defensive coaching mentality, my job is to stop that play. Our job is to stop that play. I'll answer it that way."

Glenn's comments during the league's owner meetings this week wasn't the only time defensive coaches have come to the defense of the play. Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles spoke out at the Scouting Combine with his own defense of the play.

"The safety of it's always going to be a question because it's a rugby style of play, but I have nothing against it. You found guys that are being creative, and found the niche and how to gain an edge in this league, and that is what we as coaches try and do on a daily basis," Bowles said. "So now it's up to defensive coaches to try and gain an edge to try and stop it, so that's the challenge of it every time somebody brings something new, whether it's offense or defense, so I'm all for it that way. Again, nobody's been seriously hurt at this time but you got to figure out how to stop it if you're going to stop it."

24 owners need to vote in favor of the play to be banned moving forward.

As of now, it doesn't look like the detractors have enough votes at this time.
