ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Area High School athletic field was taken over by area fifth graders on Tuesday, May 13, for the annual Elementary Track and Field Day.

Schools participating in the event included Lincoln, Voyager, Woodland, Garfield, Carlos, Miltona elementary schools, along with St. Mary’s Catholic School, Zion Lutheran School and Alexandria Community Christian School.

Events included bean bag tossing, ladder golf, sprints, relays, softball throwing, sack races, piggy back races, long jumping, jump rope races and a tug-of-war tournament.

The fourth grade Track and Field Day was rained out last week and rescheduled for Wednesday, May 21, weather permitting.
