What happened int he other bar shootings in Jacksonville?
Before the Elevation Lounge bloodshed, there was a double shooting with one fatality at the Locals' sports bar at 1216 Kings Ave. at about 2:30 a.m. May 19. A man 30 to 35 years old was killed and a woman 25 to 30 was wounded when gunfire erupted during an argument in the parking lot, the Sheriff's Office previously said. Multiple people were detained, but the only arrest thus far has been a 33-year-old man charged on his birthday with carrying a concealed weapon in a forbidden place, court records show. Less than a week earlier on May 13, a 26-year-old man was similarly shot and killed about 2 a.m. outside Wacko’s Gentlemen’s Club at 3701 Emerson St. The Sheriff's Office said he was leaving the strip club when he got into an argument in the parking lot of and was shot. Police found eight to 10 shell casings from the same weapon. No arrests have been announced. On Feb. 23, also about 2 a.m., a 34-year-old man was shot and killed during a dispute at The Roost country bar 9151 W Beaver St., according to the Sheriff's Office. After multiple interviews with witnesses and reviews of surveillance video, the State Attorney's Office ruled this a justifiable homicide. It started with an argument and skirmish over a man's girlfriend and the 34-year-old being escorted out by security. He then retrieved a gun and shot into the air in the parking lot. The 37-year-old suspect then got his gun and shot him. The only charge was tampering with evidence against a friend of the 37-year-old. He's accused of getting rid of the weapon.
