The Emporia High girls soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a 2-0 victory over Topeka High on Thursday.

Emersyn Johnson gave the Lady Spartans a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute on a header off a corner kick. Katie Smart added the second goal in the 55th minute. Smart said it was great to score on Senior Night.

Senior Ciara Esquivel said the Lady Spartans are confident heading into regionals.

Emporia High coach Oscar Macias said it was another great win to get.

Emporia High (9-7) will see its regional assignment on Saturday. The Lady Spartans are in a position to host a first round game early next week.
