EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - Emporia State lit up the scoreboard finishing with a season-high in points in Wednesday night’s matchup against Missouri Western. The Hornets earned the 95-85 win over Missouri Western in its final home game of the season. With Wednesday night’s victory secured, the Hornets extend its home record to 7-6 on the season. The Hornets shot 32-of-52 (61.5%) from the field, 16-of-23 (69.6%) from distance and 15-of-22 (68.2%) from the free throw line. Parker Day led Emporia State in points with 24. Four additional Hornets ended the night with double-digit scoring. Arhman Lewis scored 17, Brayson Laube had 16, Chris Harris had 14 and Malik Edwards Jr. finished with 10. Missouri Western was led by Zane Nelson who finished with 25 points. Justin Bubak scored 21 while Zion Swader finished with 17 points. Emporia State (10-17, 7-11) will finish the regular season on the road as they take on Northwest Missouri on Saturday, March 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
