COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Outfest , a day of celebration for the LGBTQ+ community, returned to the Vista on Saturday. Taking place on Park Street, the vibrant festival featured live performances by local musicians, an Outfest drag pageant, and vendors from over 45 local businesses and organizations. Hosted by South Carolina Pride, organizers say the event fosters inclusivity, empowerment, and joy — drawing attendees from across the region for a day of entertainment and community connection. James Agens, Vice President of South Carolina Pride , says regarding Outfest, “I think Pride is so important because it’s about visibility. Obviously we’re having a lot of fun. We’re having a great time, but being visible and also having resources here is so important. Because this is the 1st time that a lot of people are seeing people that are maybe different or a lot like them, and so it’s so important to come together and celebrate that.” SC Pride’s annual Pride Festival will also take place on October 4th.
