Instead of lining up and stressing yourself out trying to find the “best deals,” take a breath of fresh air and visit a Colorado state park instead! Colorado Parks and Wildlife want people to remember the important things about the holiday and winter season by urging people to visit the great outdoors. The agency made a note that 50 retail stores in Colorado and nationwide won’t be open for Black Friday anyway. Many states around the country are urging people to appreciate their parks. Colorado State park What better way to carry on the tradition of giving thanks than going out and adventuring our beautiful country! Last week, @GreatOutdoorsCO tweeted they “want to know how many people you can fit outside next Friday” coupled with the hashtag #FreshAirFriday What a great initiative to get people away from the now systemic consumerism that surrounds the holiday season. Replacing the shopping and violence with the stress-free and beautiful nature of a Colorado State Park! The agency is hosting a Great Waddle Walk-Off on Friday at Barr Lake State Park in Brighton. All ages and pups are welcome to attend the 3-mile stroll from 10 am until 4 pm. If you’d like to find a close state park to you, use the CPW Park Finder to help you on your way!
