TULSA, OKLA. (KTUL) — Two brothers are in custody following a violent armed robbery that occurred earlier this year, according to Tulsa Police. The incident took place on the morning of January 17 near 81st and Mingo. A woman reported to investigators that she was loading packages into her car in preparation for a trip to Kansas City for a bachelorette party when two men approached her. Police stated that the suspects forced her face down in the front seat, held a gun to her head, and stole her packages, thousands of dollars in cash, and a pistol before fleeing the scene. Authorities later obtained surveillance footage that showed the suspects driving a white Chevy Malibu, which had been rented in Kansas City by Marcus Denmon. Investigators say the video from the rental facility confirmed that both Marcus and Malik Denmon rented the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Marcus Denmon was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in 2012 and subsequently played professional basketball in Europe and China. On February 28, Marcus and Malik Denmon were charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon in Tulsa County. The brothers were arrested in Kansas City on March 4 and will be extradited to Tulsa to face the charges.
