Have you seen a lacrosse game before? You will be amazed at the skills of the players -- whether they're playing field, indoor, women's, or box lacrosse.

Lacrosse is fast-paced and fun! In fact, the record for fastest shot is 114 mph, set in 2013 by Mike Sawyer. That's fast, right? For you novices, here's a little about the sport: Each player has a lacrosse stick and ball. Depending on the type of lacrosse being played (field, indoor, women's, or box), there's also protective gear.

In Colorado, we have professional, semi-pro, college, and high school lacrosse. There are even organizations that offer the sport for children in 2nd through 8th grades. If you're interested in getting your child involved, check with your local community center! Looking for an exciting game? I highly recommend watching the Colorado Mammoth, Denver Outlaws, the University of Denver's Denver Pioneers, or another local college or high school team. The Colorado Mammoth (who plays at the Pepsi Center) is in season now, with games through April 28. Just be careful if you're on the sidelines because a player can be pushed out of bounds -- right onto you! Also watch out for loose balls -- they hurt! I know from experience! My oldest son plays semi-pro lacrosse for the Rangers, my daughter plays for college, and my younger son plays for his high school team. So I've certainly seen my share of games! Should Elitch's be relocated? That's the subject of a Denver planning meeting in February. Please click here to learn more!
