Police in Falmouth, Massachusetts, are investigating a crash that left a 29-year-old pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. At 5:16 p.m. Tuesday, Falmouth police responded to a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 614 Main St. First responders found the man unconscious on the sidewalk. He was taken to an off-Cape trauma center. He is in critical condition, police said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said. Initial findings indicate that the man stepped into the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk, resulting in a head-on collision with the vehicle, police said. The crash remains under investigation by Falmouth police, Cape Cod Law Enforcement Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office. The man’s name has not been released.
