A house fire in Hammond, Illinois, resulted in one fatality, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred on June 16 and is currently under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal, the Piatt County Sheriff’s Department, and the Piatt County Coroner’s Office.

The Piatt County Coroner’s Office has stated that no further information will be released at this time.
